Why We Formed Endangered Encounters

Endangered Encounters’ wants people to experience the joy of seeing wonderful and rare animals in the wild and to do this within the context of conservation. This all began when a young veterinary student who was doing research to try and help save endangered tigers, fell in love with these magnificent creatures. He experienced first-hand the exhilaration of seeing these endangered animals in the wild. In 2002, our founder, Dr. Gerald Post, created Endangered Encounters so that others could experience the wonders of seeing rare and threatened animals, learn about them, and while doing so, help conservation efforts. Gerry believes that the most valuable resource that nature travel companies have are the animals people travel to see. His dream was to establish a company whose twin missions were: to allow people to see and learn about these endangered animals in the wild; and to aid endangered species conservation by donating 100% of post-tax profits to conservation and research efforts. Endangered Encounters, LLC, has tried to create trips to destinations that allow people the privilege of seeing these wonderful animals in extremely comfortable accommodations that enrich the local economy without disturbing or destroying the ecosystem. World renowned naturalists, conservationists and researchers are also an integral part of our team. Please join us, travel and learn with us, and help us save these rare and spectacular creatures. One person, one company can make a difference!
